This week thus far has been full of many epic moments one would consider "epic."

First, and perhaps most important, I have yet to wear a coat in 5 days. Additionally, it was so nice out today that I enjoyed lunch outdoors in the Timothy Dwight College courtyard. Don't let the leafless tree fool you- it was nice and warm.

This past Friday, as I mentioned before, I got to be part of a videoconference with Gen. Jacoby, Commander NORTHCOM and NORAD. Additionally, I got to attend meetings with both the CEO of Save the Children, and the Chief Counselor for USAID. Excuse my water bottle obstructing the picture.

Yesterday some other midshipmen and I met with Bob Woodward, the Washington Post journalist that is widely credited with breaking Watergate. He is also a Yale NROTC graduate, and he came to the wardroom to meet with us and discuss his time in the Navy and lots of other stories about his post-Navy life. Very neat guy.

Also, it snowed yesterday. It was pretty sad, but fortunately all of the snow is gone now, thanks to the warm weather today.

Lastly, I had a major breakthrough in calculus! I was looking over my 1st exam in calculus and found that in the box where graders write each question's individual score and then tally it up in a bottom box to compute the final score, a grader had written 16 points for #4, but the 6 in the number 16 was written to possibly look like a 0... and they shorted me 6 points that I earned. While I still didn't do so hot on that exam, that's an extra 6 points I didn't have before. I was pretty excited.

This weekend I'm going to churn out my final paper for South Asia in Politics, and then finish a final project for another class...which leaves only econ and calculus to study for for the entire rest of the year.

I also got some free notepads today at a store that was giving them out. That made me pretty happy.
