Tomorrow morning we leave for Scotland, having only been in England for four days. But it will be very nice traveling through the Scottish highlands and enjoying a few days in Edinburgh. And once we return to Cambridge (on Sunday), the next day the Tour de France is passing through Cambridge... in fact the route passes right through the main road in front of King's College where I am staying. Tonight we had one of our formal dinners in King's College, and it was nice. I met some very nice people from Singapore and we had a nice conversation.
One of the coolest things about the formal was that we got to walk on the grass. Normally, only senior fellows of the college can walk on the grass. And yes, they are serious about it.

I forgot to write about this, but when I arrived in Cambridge and needed a raincoat, I found the closest store. It happened to be TK maxx. Evidently it's like TJ Maxx but a European/UK version.

A few more fun pictures of Cambridge...

And pictures from the formal. You can tell by the picture my fiancee took of me that I didn't want to go. She made me go.

This is part of the dining hall.

I never did figure out what the stuff below is.

This picture below was lamb breast and something else.

And the picture below is the dessert...some sort of apricot tart?
