I had to get a picture with the famous tools used to discover/invent logarithms.
Below is the main gallery for the national museum of Scotland.
This is the sarcophagus of Mary Queen of Scots.
And we stumbled across this little gem - it's the restaurant/cafe where JK Rowling wrote the first Harry Potter books. To me, it was really cool. And the next two pictures are inside the cafe.
This is a view of the hills from the outside of Scottish Parliament.
And below is a nice pillar box, but it isn't original. I have been reading about the British Royal Mail, and these particular hexagonal penfold pillar boxes are mostly replicas. There are only about 150 remaining from Edward VII and Queen Victoria's reign, with no original ones in Scotland. They are all replicas from the 1980s in Scotland. But they are still nice.
Just a nice restaurant from 1772.
The Scotts Monument below.
And this is Edinburgh castle below, off in the distance.
And we saw a newlywed couple drive by today!
And below is Scotland's Parliament. Yeah, it's ultra modern, and interesting.
And below are the pictures of our hike today up to Arthur's Seat, overlooking Edinburgh.
I have bad allergies. Really bad allergies. And everything is in full bloom in Scotland. So once we got to the top of the cliff, my eyes started burning, and I started uncontrollably sneezing so bad that I got a migraine, and my eyes swelled up and turned red. So we went back to the room and I took a shower and laid down.
But I felt good enough later to walk outside and mail a few postcards back home!
And then a few more pictures from the earlier hike that I got on my other camera.
I didn't tell her I was taking this picture, and I think it turned out nice.
Anyways, we're headed back to Cambridge before they close down all the roads tomorrow! The Tour de France is coming right through campus on Monday, and the whole city is shut down.
